How to draw anime eyes: Female (Step by step procedure)

Hello Guys, it's Mackenzie here! Today, I'll be teaching you guys on how to draw Female anime eyes. Grab your best pencil and a piece of clean paper and let's get this going!

The eyes are one of the most important feature of anime and manga characters because they are - the same with the mouth - the most expressive parts of the face, and are part of what makes each character unique and recognizable. In this tutorial, we will learn to draw some variety of the female eyes; both manga and anime. I will also give some different styles of the female eyes for you to have more references about it. Let's start drawing!

Let's start with the most common of the female and manga eyes, the large type. Start making an upward curve, and slightly thicker at the highest point. Now this eye will be the right side of the face, so the left side of the curved line is higher than the right side. The left side of the curved line must be thinner than the right side. As the curved line goes from left to right, it must be thinner from the left side to thicker to the right.

Next is the lower part of the eye. To help you draw it, make a border line that starts from both edges of the top part of the eye. The border lines must be in a "V" form. Notice that the border line from the right side is steeper than the left side. The steepness of the slope will determine the largeness and the wideness the eye will be.

Erase the guidelines and draw an oval shape starting from the top part of the eye. Some eyes have large circles for irises, others are small. You can also adjust the wideness of the circle if you like. Make sure that the oval is obscured by the top part of the eye.

Draw the outlines for the light glares inside the oval. Eyes should have at least a bit of shading. Some female eyes have heavy shading and lots of light glares. Make sure that the glares are also in the correct position from the light source. For example, our light source is from the top left, so draw a large circle at the top left part of the iris and a small circle on the lower right side of the circle.

Then, the pupil underneath the light glares. The highlights are always on top. While you're at it, draw the eyelashes too. Draw a series of spikes from the top part, coming off the top part of the eye. Also make sure the spikes follow the curve of the eye, so it looks like they are coming off of the eye. Also, draw the eyelid on the left part of the eye. It should be a thin, curved line originating from the top of the eye. After that, add the eyebrows at the top of the eyelids.

You can also sketch different kinds of female eyes. Just experiment and let your imaginations flow. As promised, here is my set of female eyes, all on the right side of the face.

Now that's the end of this tutorial, thank you so much! If you really read and reach the end of this tutorial, I really appreciate it! Next tutorial, I will try to make a blog tutorial with a video link related to the tutorial. It's much easier to learn with two mediums in one tutorial. See you next tutorial!
